329/365-Happy Thanksgiving!

It's our first Thanksgiving in Mobile.  We were so lucky to have two sets of friends, Kit and Jen, and, Francesca and Cesar, invite us to have Thanksgiving with them or with them and their families.  We've actually spent Thanksgivings in the past with friends and had some of our best T-Gives memories those years so we were tempted.
Thanksgiving 2007 with Carmen and Jay
Thanksgiving 2009 with the Roses.
However, we decided it would be nice to spend the holiday, together, just the two of us.  So we planned the menu, bought the groceries, and this morning we woke up ready to cook the day away.

We started with mimosas:
And had sausage and cream cheese pinwheels for breakfast/appetizers.
No, don't adjust your computer screen.  That is me COOKING!
For the meal we made:
And some greek green beens and pork loin with cranberry sauce but forgot to take pictures of the cooking process. BUT...I did get pictures of...
 The smoke detector going off
while T made the pork loin
and us having to open the windows to prevent the fire department from joining in our Thanksgiving Feast.
And for dessert
Cinnamon Cream Cheese Croissant-note one good thing about doing T-Gives, together, just the two of us-no make-up and you don't have to fix your hair!
We decanted the wine and set the table.
And enjoyed a wonderful meal, together, just the two of us.
Y'all, I know we made it and really shouldn't brag but it was SO good!  I can't wait to eat leftovers tonight!!! And did y'all notice that not one Hungry Girl recipe was used???  There was so much butter in these recipes that it would have made Paula Deen cry tears of joy!  We used recipes from off the internet, cookbooks, and friends in Dallas.  So thanks, Lumi, Todd, FIFI*, Pioneer Woman, and random adoption blog I've read for a few years (but never commented on-sorry!), y'all helped make our first Thanksgiving here in Mobile wonderful!
After dinner, we got out our football gear
to cheer on our favorite teams.  So even if it's it just the two of us, we aren't "together" when it comes to NFL loyalties.  Plus, I ended up not even being able to wear my sweatshirt because it's in the upper 70's/low 80's today!  I guess, that's our "welcome" to Thanksgiving on the Gulf!
On a serious note, we had so much happen/change in our life from Thanksgiving 2009-Thanksgiving 2010 and we know we have been blessed beyond measure and we are completely undeserving.  We are extremely grateful for the support/love of our family and friends, both old and new.  You are all very precious to us.  Our hearts are over-flowing with gratitude.  May all your lives be as blessed as having you in our lives has blessed us.

*Fix-It and Forget-It crock pot cookbook affectionately nicknamed FIFI by us.

Hey OAm~

The recipe for the mac & cheese is linked up. We don't use a grill and just improvise and it turns out fabulous!
We'll share the blog plan when we've 100% decided what we're going to do. :-)
