Supper Sundays (5/52)

Okay . . . so things got a little off-track this week.  But I think we rallied pretty well, and ultimately had to move only one meal to next week.

Meal Plan Week #4
  • A fun and pretty easy recipe.  The only downside was that it was incredibly messy (or maybe that's just me?).  Regardless, it made a ton of leftovers.  One regret is that I may have gone a little overboard on the chipotles in adobo sauce . . . pretty much including all of them, and a jalapeno, or two . . .   stick to the recipe, folks.

Monday:  Pork Tenderloin with Red and Yellow Peppers  Leftovers from Sunday
Tuesday:  Dinner out (Subway and/or Hopjacks)  Senior Bowl Quarterback Club Reception (I will let A explain tomorrow)
Wednesday:  Leftovers from Sunday  Dinner at Fuego to celebrate (something we will announce soon . . . and A celebrated with a margarita . . . so, no, it's not that!)
Thursday:  Cider-Glazed Chicken with Browned Butter-Pecan Rice  Pork Tenderloin with Red and Yellow Peppers
  • This recipe called for sardines to give it a salty, but not fishy, flavor.  And it worked!  At first A was pretty disgusted by the idea (even though I enjoyed mushing up the little fellows before added them into the pan).  But in the end, she agreed that it turned out!  (I actually think she's kind of proud to have eaten them . . . first grasshoppers, then blood sausage, now sardines . . . who knows what the future holds for the girl who used to make me email her the menu before going out to dinner while we were dating!)

Friday:  Brussel Sprouts with Walnuts and Dried Cranberries  Cider-Glazed Chicken with Browned Butter-Pecan Rice
  • Fancy, easy meal.  The toasted pecans sealed the deal.

Saturday (breakfast):  Apple Cider Pancakes
  • These pancakes had a really different flavor, which was pretty good.  We will not buy Jennie-O turkey bacon again, however.  It looks like (and probably tasted about as good as) little kid play kitchen bacon.
Saturday (dinner):  Date Night

Pick of the week
T:  Pork Tenderloin with Red and Yellow Peppers

Meal Plan Week #5
Sunday:  Brussel Sprouts with Walnuts and Dried Cranberries
Monday:  Book Club (for A, leaving T to fend for himself)
Tuesday:  Foil Pack Pork Fajitas
Wednesday:  Vegetable Gumbo
Thursday:  Leftovers from Wednesday
Friday:  Evan's birthday (Bike Shop)
Saturday (dinner):  Dinner party with the Yp's

Pick of the week
A:  Vegetable Gumbo
T:  Ditto

hmmmmm..so "not that"...sadly, I know you both well enough to know that your plans do NOT include coming back to the DFW area. Sigh.

And I am quite proud that the girl who could barely touch my prego belly could stomach sardines. Eck.
When I come visit, can I make up the menu I want from the food posts???
