T & A Tuesday (2/52)

Whew! 2011 is already going strong!
Last Wednesday, Mobile hosted the godaddy.com bowl which of course included a parade! We knew living downtown during Mardi Gras parades was going to be a problem for me getting home so I've already asked to switch days at work during that season. However, this parade caught us off guard and I was more than a little stressed out after finding parking half a mile away but we decided to jump right in and watch.

Glad we did because we got all of this:
And now those beads and moon pies dress our dining table for Mardi Gras season! And the cups will come in quite handy with guests.

Friday, we hosted a "Holiday Hangover" happy hour.
We basically left up our Christmas decorations, bought holiday clearance paper plates/napkins, invited some friends over (I'm still horrible at taking pictures of people-I get self-conscious asking them)

and enjoyed drinks and snacks for a while.

Next year we're thinking of adding one last "Dirty Santa" gift exchange so everyone can re-gift those less "loved" gifts from the season.

Saturday was "Date Day" I would tell you all about it but you can read about it in Mobile Monday...oh, wait, T never wrote it did he? Hmmm....more on that later.
Suffice it to say, we ended the outing with grocery shopping! We're so romantic...
I was so excited! This place actually had everything we needed so we didn't have to go to eight million places. They even had chipotles in adobo sauce!

And now the reason Mobile Monday will be written on Wednesday...BCS Championship!!!!
Evan and Drew had us over (under the condition that we cheer for Auburn-which was easy for me. I easily get caught up in the enthusiasm of others. Plus who doesn't want to cheer for the winner?).
At first, I was quiet when we got there because everyone was so intense watching the game and I was a little intimidated but as the game went on things got crazy!

Unless, you live under a rock (or aren't as football crazed as everyone here in SEC country) you know AUBURN WON! WAR EAGLE! I promised them I would cheer for Auburn and I can say I was truly happy Auburn won. State of Alabama has done well since we found out we were moving here! Read Evan's account of the night here.

I would like to tell you all 2011 is starting to slow down for us, but it's not*. We have a cocho game night tonight with Ariel and his family before the family leaves in a few days to go back to Bolivia, a virtual happy hour, belated birthday lunch, and a "welcome" happy hour for another colleague between now and Friday night! There's a good possibility the Morrisons won't be doing anything this weekend. We'll need to rest from the week! At least I know I'll have blog material for the next T & A Tuesday....

*Y'all know I would have it no other way. I just can't help it. I'm an over-scheduler and I love being around people.
