Supper Sundays (9/52)

Meal Plan Week #8
Sunday:  Frozen pizza
This was as good as the stew below (better to some), but it was quick and easy; definitely a fancy weeknight meal.

Loved that I got to use my new toy--the dutch oven--and give a true stew a shot.  It took some time, and stressed me out at times, but it was all worth it!

Wednesday:  Sobre Mesa (at El Giro)
Thursday:  Artichoke Potato Medley (and leftover chicken soup)  Mediterranean Sandwich Shop
Friday:  Leftover stew  (See Thursday, plus, of course, some of these bad boys, fresh from the street . . . like we said last week, cut us some slack--it's Mardi Gras!)

Saturday (breakfast):  Peanut Butter & Banana French Toast
Peanut butter combined with cream cheese for the stuffing . . . 'nuff said.  It was good.

Saturday (dinner):  Dinner party with friends (NOT hosting!)

Pick of the week:
A:  Tuscan Chicken Soup
T:  Italian Beef Stew

AND the winner is . . . A and Tuscan Chicken Soup . . . we had a guest judge last week, and she cast the deciding vote in the close contest.  Both dishes were steller.

Meal Plan Week #9**
Monday:  Leftover red beans and rice
Wednesday:  Leftover lasagna
Friday:  Leftover curry
Saturday (breakfast):  Biscuits and bacon
Saturday (dinner):  PARADES = carnival food!!

Pick of the week:
A:  Lasagna
T:  Curry

**With parades rolling past our front door every night this week (except Wednesday), we decided the best approach (since we want to spend one more week avoiding the street food scene) was crockpot meals.  We'll let you know how this works out, of course.
