T & A Tuesday (7/52)

No day by day breakdown this week.  That's because Friday, Saturday, and Sunday were so busy and fun there's no reason time to talk about anything else.

Friday, we went to the Osiris Ball with our friends, Ariel and Cai.  You can't take pictures at the ball so we took some before.
Given this was our first Mardi Gras ball, I didn't know what to expect...except a lot of people and maybe some dancing.  So I wanted my hair up so it wouldn't be so hot and would stay fixed throughout the night.  I wasn't 100% satisfied with the way it looked but I never got hot and every.single.hair.on.my.head stayed in place the entire time!
Oh, come on now y'all, you know I didn't follow the "no pictures" rule!  Shhh!  Don't tell!  Here's a little sneak peek (we have more but I don't feel right posting them since some are of their tables decor-Sorry).
The next day, T planned a fun little get-a-way for us to a "Resort, Golf Club, & Spa" in Point Clear.  I'll let T tell you about the facilites tomorrow on Mobile Monday/Where We Live Wednesday".  The main reason he planned the over night trip was because they were having a 3-hour wine tasting with over 160 wines sponsored by Red or White.  Um, yeah.  We loved it!
We knew to start with something in our stomachs so we had crab cakes
 and fried green tomatoes,
before going outside to the wine tasting.
 T took notes.
And I forced us to take pictures together looking into the sun.  Not sure why the poor choice of location on my part because this was early into the 3 hours.
We continued on, tasting more wines.
And of course I got chatty and took a picture with a random distributor.
When it was all said and done we were tired so we decided to go back to the room for a quick nap before dinner.  Unfortunately, we didn't factor in how tired we were from the ball and/or how much wine we had and woke up three hours later to realize we slept through our dinner reservation!  T woke up in a panic and called the restaurant and fortunately they were able to get us in. Y'all it was SO good.
T 1st Course:  Scallop and Kobe Beef Slider
A 1st Course:  Goat Cheese Souffle with Asparagus Sauce
T 2nd Course:  Ahi Tuna (they had a fancy name but I can't remember now)
 A 2nd Course:  Grand Salad
We took a break to take a picture.
 A 3rd Course:  The Philly
T 3rd Course:  Lamb with Fried Hummus
 Yep, he enjoyed it.
I ate so much I was already tired again.
But then dessert came (chocolate creme brulee, some kind of cake that reminded me of Little Debbie-blech, and fruit tart)
And I woke up happy again!
Especially because they brought out a 2nd small dessert!  Chocolate Covered Strawberries!
The over-indulgence was over until the next day.  We got up pretty early, which makes sense since we had a three hour nap and still went to bed by 10:30.  So we walked around the grounds and just sat on a bench swing looking out into the water.
And then it was time to eat again!  I know right?  How could anything else fit inside our tummies?  Not sure but we made it happen.
I mean how could you resist ribs
and multiple desserts during a Sunday Jazz Brunch?
It was a great weekend and I really appreciate T planning the special time for us.  Obviously, we took it easy Sunday evening but Monday/Valentine's Day did come with another surprise!  Ariel texted me this picture from Friday he found on his phone on Monday.
Ha!  It's me with Ariel in the background at the ball.  T thinks this is the best representation of the night and I'm just happy someone else (I think Cai) broke the "no pictures" rule!

P.S.  Happy Valentine's Day OAm and Steph.  Hope you enjoy all the food pics!
