Supper Sundays (16/52)

Meal Plan Week #15
Breakfasts all week:  Strawberry Crème Green Monster
The much-hyped Green Monster thing worked for us.  It seriously tasted like ice cream--you would have NO clue you were eating spinach for breakfast.  Going forward (or at least once we make it back to the grocery store, and get our groove back), we will attempt other versions of Green Monsters; you should give them a try.

Sunday:  Spicy Dr. Pepper Shredded Pork
Pioneer Woman helped to make our first attempt at Thanksgiving a success, and she worked her magic again with these.  Delicious!  And I got fat(ter) and happy(ier) eating these for lunch most of the week.

Monday:  Leftover pork
Tuesday:  The Bluegill with Evan and Drew for (free) Underhill Family Orchestra concert  Flaked, and stayed home to get ready for our weekend guest
Wednesday:  Like Grandma's Chicken 'N Dumplings
Credit to this one goes to Todd (of Todd and Wendy (or WT) fame).  I doubt making chicken 'n dumplings was this easy for my great-grandmother, but these taste--almost--as good.

Thursday:  Leftover chicken 'n dumplings
Friday:  Happy Hour and Dinner Out
Saturday (breakfast):  Fluffy French Toast & Turkey Bacon
This one was good (and very easy).  I was remiss by not mentioning (or linking-up to) the inspiration for this modified--in a very good way: e.g., adding Dark rum to the batter--recipe when I posted it last week.  An excellent approach to french toast.  (But I forgot to cook the bacon.)

Pick of the week:
A: Pork
T: Pork (duh--it's basically the happy marriage of a pig butt, chipotles in adobo sauce, and Dr. Pepper, cooked long and slow in a Dutch oven!!)
Yep, pork it was.  But the chicken 'n dumplings finished a STRONG second.

Meal Plan Week #17
As A will likely explain in her T&A Tuesday (or whenever) update, it was a crazy weekend.  And this week, and next week, and the week after that promise more of the same.  As such, this is another "Jared Week."  We hope to get back to the menu planning--and the grocery store--as soon as possible.
